Liberal or conservative? APC or PDP (this one's for my country)? Republican or Democrat? Donald Trump or Obama?
Why do we have so much controversy surrounding what political organisation or figure-head we or a particular personsupport? RollingStone.com published an article on the CIA's maltreatment of Middle-Eastern men and there was outrage in the comments about how they have too many writers leaning towards the liberal spectrum of politics.
This is the same society that is always on the necks of those who discriminate against others racially or sexually or ally the other -llys there are (yes, I know that's not a thing. It fit). Now, don't misquote me- all kinds of discrimination suck. However, we must realize that discriminating or getting angry at someone because of what party or system of government they support.
People who do this are politist (this is an actual word). As defined by urbandictionary.com (yes, this counts as a point of reference), a politist is a person with a prejudiced belief that one political party, particularly the one they belong to, is superior to others.
That person is so politist. They think that people who do not align with their political views are ignorant, and they express an outward hatred toward them.
Being politist, while not as harmful as being sexist or racist, is another example of what is wrong with humans. Political differences have caused just as many problems as racism or sexism (e.g. assassinations, public embarrassment and awkwardness, memes, etc).
Okay, so a majority of Rolling Stone's writers are liberal or whatever and Lana Del Rey made this statement about not being a feminist and not having any political views whatsoever and it caused so much controversy and whenever I come across another article bashing her verbally, I always shout into the void of whatever people randomly shout into about how it's NOBODY'S BUSINESS IF SHE DOESN'T CARE. Some people just don't.
Basically, if you're politist, you need to check yourself. You're discriminating somehow, and you need to learn to coexist with other people with different...beliefs, I guess?
Disclaimer: This post does not mean I like politics or care about it in anyway. I think the world's poltiical system is messed up in various unfixable ways. That's MY OPINION.
